Should I or shouldn't I buy... (clothing item)? - Page 2830

5-zip seems like a good idea.

Anyone handled these AMI derbies? Any impressions? Looks like a pretty nice shape - if a little conservative. And they are very shiny, at least in the photos..

From measurements it seem to fit me well in the chest and shoulder. Anyone have experience with the sleeve and body length of this jacket?

I have that jacket and like it. Cut seems to be the same as my other 5-zips. The inside is padded though, as you prob know if you've seen it. Makes it hard to wear in mild climates, but good for a winter day.

Haven't handled that AMI, but so many designer shoes are made from crap leather. That one looks like it's made from corrected grain. Personally, I would just go with whatever that model is at No Man Walks Alone. Much better quality, and probably either the same price or less.

What is your thought on the leather quality and how is the broken in process?

Leather is good. A little softer and thicker than my other five-zips.

Breaking in period is basically nothing since it's a soft leather. I've only worn it a handful of times, and only owned it for a year, so I don't know how much I can say about the aging process. But it's a nice leather -- just a bit thicker than my other five-zips.

Thanks for input. Just one more question, what is your usual suit/ jacket size and what size did you get for this 5 zip?

I would go with the first ones judging from those pictures. It looks like the frame is slightly thinner with not as round shape. They look more oval. But maybe it is just the angle.

Have you tried them or a similar style on? With eyewear I have found that what I like is not necessarily what I look good in, because of face shape, features, etc.

Thanks, yea I ended up getting these:

similar, mmessee007.  safer shape. the copper is cool - couldn't be happier tbh.  also got a great deal on em

My chest measures 37". I wear between an XS and S in most things, or 36 and 38. I took for a 46 EU for this navy five zip.

I've been looking for a band collar shirt but could only really find crisp white ones. Would size up for a looser fit. Maybe it's the light blue stripes throwing me off but would this look out of place with Geller stuff?

Not that into the band collar + stripes combo there. I guess I'm not that into vertically striped shirts in general, so maybe it's just personal bias.

Individualized has a pretty nice range of fabrics and options, including a band collar, via Epaulet's MTO program: http://epauletnewyork.com/collections/special-order/Made-to-Order-Shirting

Might be an option if you're not finding anything you like OTR.

Maybe contact @snowmanxl to see what he could do with one of his band collar shirts?

Dries?

If so, I saw it and handled it in person today. Great shirt.

Looking for a cheapish relaxed trouser, something like this but in navy, pleated if possible, high rise, with belt loops if elasticized waist. First pic is other shop's store brand. COS is out of stock in my size, Uniqlo has has some weird as hell smart pants. Also saw these Schneider signal trousers from spring but they look tapered. Lemaire, MH too expensive.
