Should I or shouldn't I buy... (clothing item)? - Page 2824

Can we dub FW15 - SS16 'the year of the long shirt'? I feel like they reached the saturation point around the time Naked & Famous started selling them (which I believe was after Gitman Vintage started selling them, and N&Fs are only particularly long in comparison to the super-short shirts they usually sell).

Not that I necessarily see a lot of long shirts outside of lookbooks / web shops / SF.

@the shah yeah I did post 2 or 3 in waywt but I'm not sure how visible it is (I know at least 1 was under an overshirt thing). I think there me be some on his IG actually (not his personal one).
I want more of them, I was trying to get Dan to do one in a natural colour linen-hemp with a loose weave for summer but finding the fabric was hard so I'm probably going to get another one in grey flannel come fall. The tencel he has in the "snow" and black colours is amazing though.

Hmmm... I've had my eye on that Snowman drape back shirt too. Grey flannel sounds like a good fabric for it.

I find a lot of OTR shirts quite short for my taste, tucked or untucked.

The front length on those N&F shirts is just about acceptable in my book as a regular shirt length, the longer tail does take it a bit more into long shirt territory for me. I know we're not discussing buying those, but I wouldn't.

I think the long shirt needs a collar, EG had some nice ones.

I like long shirts when they're not just part of a Hypebeast look (joggers, side-zip shirts, hype sneakers, etc). Tender one could be kind of cool. Recently saw a girl wearing the Beekeeper's shirt that I thought looked really good (although, I suppose hat's more like a jacket?).

Anyway, Frank, I think the one with the collar looks better. FWIW, if that's like Tender's other shirts, it's not so much "long" as it is just "oversized."

that's what i'm gonna probably go for, got some closeup pics of the fabric. i've had tencel shirts before and they are fantastic during the warmer months.

I need sneakers, and GATs are my comfort zone

Yes to GATs, but no to that particular makeup.

I dunno if it's just me but the OG paintd gats I got in 2011 or 10? felt really different, softer leather and more comfortable to wear. I've tried to get some since, but they've all felt stiffer and less forgiving and even slimmer despite same size.

if you do go for gats don't get that color though, the silver trim is a bit gaudy

I actually think the silver trim is a cool alternative to the normal gum sole. I imagine with wear, the silver will tone down a bit. I like the all leather white upper.

Yea I only like the standard GAT in the white and black colorway. The painted ones were cool but they haven't made them in years I believe. A couple of the birdshit pairs were cool.

I could go true Martin and paint over the silver sole with white paint!

But less comfy leather is a bummer

should I get this EG jacket? I can't really tell whether it will be too versatile (e.g. able to throw it on with T shirt, denim and sneakers)

@derrida26 I have this fabric in a pair of pants, it sort of looks like 3D "Magic Eye" art from the 90s. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing.
