@Hendrix: my budget is pretty strictly around $250, but if the price goes a little over, and if the shoe happens to be terrifically awesome, then I could maybe loosen up a bit. At the moment, I'm between getting a pair of hi-tops and getting another pair of side-zips. Leaning more toward the hi-tops because I don't own a pair, but another pair of grey side-zips could easily win out if there's nothing particularly great in the way of sneakers.
FWIW I'm a size 11

I'm not the guy to ask about hitops - I only like Raf Astros and CP BBalls, both of which are hard to find - but I like and have a pair of grey side zips myself. It's an excellent colour for footwear.

With that budget you could get some Paul Smith's from ebay uk, but I think that's a better budget for sneakers as you could get something really nice, but side zips you get something just above average for that price.

when will the general populous on SF realize that just because something is on sale doesn't make it less ugly. jesus. if you wouldn't buy it at retail, don't buy it on sale. can someone please make a website where you can browse the stock from lots of sites (like far fetch or something) but with the price tag hidden? so many of y'all so blinded by the X% off tag. you the same people who bragged about wearing a $2 t-shirt you got from the thrift store in high school.

no hate mikey I just don't see the context for your post.

This is where people ask whether they should or shouldn't buy something. There's inherently gonna be a lot of bad stuff, and there are plenty of people around to let the user know it.

Better here than in recent purchases.

But those guides aren't ugly. I think sheepo was just saying he's interested but not sure how to wear them but the sale makes it more enticing.

Anyways to answer your question, I say go for them. Black apcs with those would look great on a daily basis. Depending on the suit it can look good too. If you go with a more fashion forward/modern cut over a traditional cut then they will mesh IMO

i think mikeys right though, cuz sometimes we one can irrationally go for these we wouldn't normally want just because the price is enticing.

I agree--no one should buy something they wouldn't normally buy just because it's on sale. I think the key is to think of the price as not being on sale, and really ask yourself--would I spend $100 on this item, regardless of whether it was on sale or not?

Last season, I got them for under $200 and they still had a pretty full run of sizes at the end, too. Pierre Hardy gets a lot of flak around here, but my pair fulfills my hi-top desires, and quality is about on par with CPs.

white PHs are the only baller sneaks I've ever bought, though I decided to get rid of them because I still like jack purcells (the leather ones) better. I'd probably also prefer some white canvas Vans. I think the only baller sneaks I would buy are the solid white GATs. I do kinda really like those and would probably grab some if I ever found a reasonably priced pair.

I don't think Mikey is really on the mark here- Let's take Visvim for example. SUper awesome pieces, but absurdly overpriced. The pricepoint simply is not properly matched to the product. It's not a matter of desirability, but faulty marketing.

Retail is for suckers, unless you're loaded or there's something you want/absolutely need and know it'll sell out (this is a rare case).
