i dunno what you mean about apc is now made in macau. it's always been made in macau (as far as i can remember and i learned about APCs maybe 7 years ago)

When you're buying fashion brands there's gonna be a little trade-off in terms of quality, that's fine.
However, some of the recent margielas have been very, very poor quality and ridiculously inflated price. It's shocking to me to see how much they've cashed in on hype.

Some of the things i've noticed about them:
shitty upper leather
glued soles
cardboard or some type of fibreboard insoles
really really thin soles (although this is part of the design so not really an issue).

Keep in mind i'm a bit of a shoe nerd so I like a lot of shoes for historical/construction reasons in the same way that denim nerds like raw japanese selvedge stitched by himalayan monkeys, when APC NS have inferior quality but are still fine and the styling/cut is more important for most people.

Again, value is relative so if you like them then that's great.

I have 24' thighs and APCs fit me fine. Just because you have bigger thighs doesn't mean the majority do. For the majority, APC fit is way better than most other brands. There are also five fits in the New Standard, New Cure, Petit Standard, Standard and Rescue. If you got big thighs I have no idea why you would be wearing petit standards.

no there are 5. though i've never seen standard in north america, only europe.

yeah, I see your point. I know right now, for instance, they have a few models with a rubber sole that feels very porous, like it would last about a month if you did any serious walking in them, and they're $865, if I remember right. They put out a lot of stuff that almost seems like a novelty, mixed in with genuinely nice stuff like these.
