Should I or shouldn't I buy... (clothing item)?

So, a lot of times I really like a piece and I'm sometimes curious as to what other people think of its wearability or how good of an idea it actually is. The allure of sales over the years have made many people buy B&S-destined clothing. This is the opportune place to see if you should buy that pink sweater (yes) or gold floral tuxedo shirt (no). Maybe you think you can size down where you probably shouldn't? You could also use this thread to recommend cheaper alternatives to posted items.

I anticipate thread-poopery from the following parties:

whodini
jet

Connemara
Saucemaster
shoreman1782
Arethusa?
(If edmorel and iammatt ever read Streetwear and Denim....)

No, kunk, it's more of a ... should I buy:

where people hit you with commentary.. might save you from a potentially bad decision or convince you to go with a good one. I think it also might get people to see things, not necessarily worn, that they may have not considered before.

here's my dose of thread poopery.....

def gotten good over the years at passing **** up during sale time that I know is actually wasting money because I'll wear the item only a couple times and never again

that said, I've been contemplating a pair of very light blue suede Paul Smith laceups...I dont remember if they are brogues or just regular laceups but I actually have some stuff they'd go well with but am trying to figure out how much mileage they'll get, even on sale.

yup. i only pull the trigger on things that are hard to find on sale, i.e., rick owens and raf in my size.

i have too many ****-ass purchases, bought cause it was 60% off.

PG2G, I dig the shirt - I mean.. you can't wear it frequently because it's so unique, it'll call attention to itself. It would look great alone or with a modern suit. You could probably play with colors or go goth-ninja and both would work.

yea I find in the long run I save $ by buying what I really want at full price, passing up what seems like a good bargain at 50+% off on stuff I never get to wearing, and only buying on sale what I wanted at full price that I couldnt purchase at the time

footwear is my exception. can never have too many shoes because you'll find SOME time to wear them.

i grab several pairs at the warehouse sale every year, and though many sit in my closet, they can always be resold when unworn.
