marsell can be had for a lot cheaper than that, nicelynice got a pair for 5$ ok fine that's exception to the rule but they hit deep sales regularly quality isn't bad and better QC than officine that may or may not disintegrate after a month. f+b quality is fine but nothing near the ma+ tho if you dropping 1k+ then look into other stuff like the usual in the baller boots thread as well

I pretty much already know the answer to this, since Inis Meain merino/cashmere is so delicious, but I essentially have that sweater in the white turtleneck. Plus, it's 1.5x the price of the Howlin', which I thought was nice since it has a lot of red in it, as well as a subdued Nordic pattern.

Thanks, MAcross is obv the benchmark but like 2x too rich for my blood at full retail and I doubt they go on sale. I like the Marsell's, these were marked down from $1k to $700, but you say they drop further? Rokin's look good but I know nothing about them except made in Portugal. I found used Guidi 994 in distressed calf in my size for $500 but not sure I like the shape as much, oh what to do.

ceoceo's post reminded me of this song,

But as to not be completely unhelpful, I own a pair of Mountain Light II's and think they're fantastic boots. Without knowing why you're looking into them, I can't unconditionally recommend them though. They're sturdy/heavy duty hiking boots and probably are not the best choice if you just want something for casual winter(?) wear.
