I would say yes if it didnt have the gold buttons but I find the buttons to be rather ugly.

These jeans are awesome, not faded at all but a light grey. Too big though, I'm a 31 and they feel like a 33/34. Is this easily solved at the tailor?

Neither? The Warren is terrible and I wouldn't trust the Embarcadero, which looks good, but is out of the range of styles I trust AE with.

If you can't trust a plain toe what can you trust?

There are plain toes, and then there are plain toes. The standard AE plain toe is the Leeds. If I wanted an American plain toe blucher, I might buy the Leeds. The Embarcadero is from AE's Crosstown line, which is AE trying to be more modern/sleek. I don't look to AE for modern and sleek.

That said, the Embarcadero does not look like a bad shoe.

Any rec's on similar shoes ($200-$300)? Brown lace ups with a rubber sole, as I don't need dress shoes since my work is casual dress, but prefer something dressier than say chukkas or slip-ons. I did read some less than flattering things on the AE Crosstown line, so I'm hesitant as well to pull the trigger on the Embarcadero, although I will probably order from Zappos and see how they are. Edit: Oops, just saw your comment on the Leeds. Will check those out.

The Leeds is just a more traditional, American businessman type shoe--which AE does pretty well.

Hmm.. Rubber sole may not be easy at <300 retail--eliminates most of the UK makers. Nordstrom's anniversary sale is coming up and they will likely some AE's marked down.

BB has a Peal (UK-made) 3-eyelet ptb in brown. Nice shoe if you're the right size. They also have a suede ptb with dainite (rubber) sole--I would wear these all the time.

You could also look at Loake, which is one UK maker that will have plenty in your price range.

EDIT: you'll notice most of these are sale items--I'm a cheap bastard. You can also keep an eye on the B+S forum if you don't need something ASAP.
