I cannot figure out if those shoes will make good summer shoes. Opinions much appreciated.

What about these all-white, leather all-stars?

I actually owned those and liked the clean look and simplicity and price point. I only wore them a few times before I started to dislike the clownish look they were providing on my slimmer leg opening jeans/pants. I'd also recommend looking at some PF Fylers and Tretorn sneaks for something similar and also along your pricepoint lines.

I know, it's not 'SF approved' or even accepted in the slightest, but what the hell it's not expensive and fashion is about experimenting and trying things out, who knows, maybe I can make it work for me. I have to - as chrono put it - learn the hard way, thats just how I do things.

The other two, I agree, look somewhat feminen, but this one, I don't think so. It will take a lot to convince me out of this.

Looks great. It's a classic style of jacket well executed. You'll always be able to wear it. If you're happy with the price go for it.
