Of course they will. They're distressed.

How did the pickups end up going?

i just called the ralph lauren outlet near me and they said they have a decent selection of rrl denim AND shirts. i might be able to snag a couple of pairs depending on what they got, i'll give an updated report after i make the trip...

just curious what the retail price is on these rrl jeans. i have one and they are absolutely awesome. i just want to know how much of a good deal i got paying only 80 bucks.

i can imagine how cheap they were at the outlet.

i got my RRLs for $80, straight slim, retail on them was $395, i got the straight slims, tagged size 28 x 34, but they are 33 x 36
i love them
but need to get them hemmed very badly
wow 395? is this the approximate ballpark retail for all of these different rrl denim models?
i dont' believe so, i think mine were a special design one season by godmother of 5ep

I know for a fact some RRLs retail for $265 as well.

shoe, to answer a previous question of yours, whodini has both 5EPxSF and 1st gen RRL (also designed by godmother), and according to him, the 5EP denim is a fair bit nicer.

A few items at full retail for comparison to the prices you paid/at the outlet: https://www.villainssf.com/lstProduc...&deptname=MENS

Who has 2nd generation RRLs, which are the ones that Godmother worked on. Made in Japan, IIRC. The new ones are made in the USA.

The first generation RRLs would be the ones dating back to when the line first launched in 1993 until whenever the 2nd generation started. You can still find some 2nd gen RRLs on ebay but in the common sizes it's not as easy. The denim is very hairy like the Flat Head but the ones that I actually tried on had a very low rise and were one wash, and very soft.

so what you are saying, it's almost impossible to find a pair...

Whoa whoa whoa...Just when the fuck did I say that??? I love both equally for completely different reasons. The 5EPs started off with a red/blue/green hue depending on how the light hit it (very cool in my book) which gave way to a subdued turquoise fade. 2nd gen RRLs are hairy and soft to the hand without the standard starch sheen; they, too, fade away to a turquoise but compared to 5EP the color isn't quite as muddied with other colors. I think both are still tops in my book when it comes to denim since I have yet to board the "dirtycast" train of some repro brands. Cone puts out some great stuff, don't get me wrong, but there's just something so unique to the color Godmother pulled out for her jeans.

How easily can you find a DeLorean? Really, unless it's some guy on B&S who has a pair leftover from the big RRL bonanza on ebay two years ago, it'll be tough. I haven't seen a pair like either of mine in months and months. The cut xchen's talking about, the slimboot, is what you usually see whereas the slimcut with a perfect 10" rise has been riding around with unicorns the past year or so.

i figured as much, but it can hurt to ask ya know. i had the opportunity to grab some back then, but i was very into my apcs at the time and just never did. now they've gone the way of the dodo, unless the denim genie pops out and grants me a rrl wish...
