Question re: RRL (Double RL) Jeans - Page 11

Yeah, that's why I never paid attention to the womens jeans: they're tagged like mens, ie, 30x32 instead of size 8. So mens= low straight, straight leg, slim bootcut, buckleback, and slim fit, womens= slim straight.

I recently picked up an raw selvedge RRL 31x34 - the rise 10, waist is a 34 and the length is 33. It has stitching on the back pockets and some line stitching in the front - it's a slim bootcut.

It's a nice pair however the waist is way too big on me. Hell, I might have to put it up for sale.

i have a question too. i bought a couple pairs from ebay recently. are there fakes? im afraid. cause i think there are now fake black label stuff.

How would you expect us to answer that when you don't give any details as to why you believe them to be fake?

Ha, that explains why the Slim Straights I got from Farinelli's are lacking in the sack and crack area a little.

FWIW, though, the RL store in SF stocks Slim Straights with the rest of the (men's) RRL jeans. Would love to find a pair of Low Straights but they only had washes (in sizes too large or too small for me).

They aren't making Slim Straights anymore to my knowledge. Those were previous generation RRL. Now the main fit lineup for men is: Slim Fit Low Straight Slim Bootcut Straight Leg And occasionally they'll have non-icon jeans with bucklebacks and such. The women's jeans I saw definitely didn't say Slim Straight on the pocket flashers, but other than that I don't remember what they said.

They still have those bucklebacks if vendors want them...

What's the hem like on the slim bootcuts? Are outlets and ebay still the place to go for these jeans? I picked up a few awhile back at an outlet to resell on this forum, there wasn't any in my size though. They were pretty badAZZ in the dressy way to me.

The bucklebacks are seasonal though, and usually make it to a markdown. Also, they are usually washes, but they did introduce some shrink to fit raw bucklebacks a couple seasons ago that sold terribly. If you've ever tried their bucklebacks on, you'll know why. The fit atrociously. The ones I tried were a size 30 with a 13" or so rise and a 33" or 34" waist.

Almost non-existent, maybe .5" out from the knee (8>8.5). If it was life or death I would measure my own pair but enough of these sellers put out their own measurements or at least would be willing to tell you.
Bucklebacks are around for the fall. They won't be in washes this fall, they'll be the original STF.

I think I'd rather just get some Samurai bucklebacks instead. Might look at some bucklebacks in late 2010.

If anyone EVER finds 34 waist RRL's, (post shrinkage/onewash only) 36 raws, etc. Let me know I have one pair, but every time I find a 34/35...it gets sold. Im praying for some now, so hit me up PLEASE.

Do you know a timeframe, xchen, or should I call them? I'll be in DC in three weeks.

I heard this Saturday is their last day. I have been tried to stop by Monday night to check out what they had left but they were closed by 7.
