Not a super loud Bass monster but it was an awesome super stealthy SQ setup

I would have liked to molest your P1R. I am a pioneer guy through and through.

I had deh-p9400 running your basic 4 channel amp w/2 10's, upgraded speakers, cap, xm/changer/ipod. I used to install back when I was in college, but I really miss it. I just yanked everything out of my Accord but I dont think I will install it in my new grand cherokee. Kinda like it stock.

Yah, right, I probably wont even wait for the first tank of gas to throw everything in there. I did the speakers the first night I brought it home.

I just bought a used car with an aftermarket stereo in it:

JVC KD-AR960 head unit
Alpine MRV-F357 amp
Bazooka RS subwoofer

along with some other components that weren't obviously identifiable. The amp and especially the subwoofer take up a lot of space in the trunk that I would rather use for other things. I like the head unit, but not being a car audio person, I don't know if I can remove any of the other components without completely destroying the sound in my car (I do listen to stuff in the car - just have no need for thumping bass or anything). Any suggestions on how I could determine what components could be removed?

I have an aftermarket stereo set up from a car I sold if anyone is interested send me a PM. Alpine head unit and 12 disc CD changer, Focal (JM Lab) speakers, CDT speakers (separates with crossover), etc. Would sell it for a great price. All very gently used and respected. Details on request.

Is the bazooka a tube? If so, that amp might be doing the other speakers as the bazooka tubes are self powered (IIRC). Otherwise you can pull everything out. You didnt say what you had car wise (it matters for stock speaker sizes), but the JVC Arsenal decks were decent buys for the money.

Thanks for the info. The car is a 96 BMW 3-series which doesn't come stock with an amp so I'm guessing the previous owner must have either replaced the stock speakers with aftermarket ones that needed an amp or used the amp to power the subwoofer which is a tube.
