How many miles did you run today? - Page 630

8 miles yesterday and today. Legs were really tired today for some reason... Couldn't break out of it.

6.7 miles tonite. Very windy (30 mph) made it tough to dress for 25 degrees. Too warm w/ the wind, a bit cold against.

MP - Great pic. How's the Petzl working? Is that the NAO? Looks heavy.

It's not the NAO version but it works spectacularly for my needs. While it's definitely more bulky than a lot of the other headlamps on the market, it doesn't seem any heavier than the cheap REI lamp I've been using the past few years. And most importantly, even with temps well below zero (F), the battery doesn't drain right away. I can still get a few hours worth of light on it on these bitterly cold mornings. Being a bit less bulky would be nice but the size was worth the tradeoff.

I got in 5.9 miles last night and was planning on a run tonight but with wind chills in the single digits F, I will be staying in.

Turns out I didn't have an MCL problem, just a muscle sprain, took a week off, then got sick for 4 days, but this week was back into it with a few 3-6 mile runs and everything feels fine. I'm signed up for a 1/2 marathon this weekend which I think I'll try, and if I have any pain I'll bail. Relieved it wasn't anything worse, but still want to be cautious. My new shoes arrived today, I was using the Mizuno Wave Alchemy for many years, one model after another, but it was discontinued for some reason. Trying a different Mizuno called "Wave Paradox", will see how it goes.

Take it easy after a muscle sprain, sick and new shoes. A half marathon sounds pretty challenging after all that! Hope all goes well.

5 mile tempo run this afternoon on trails. Feeling good!

4.5 miles in wind chills of about -18º (F) this morning. I was tempted to run to the gym, strip down and get in the sauna and then get back outside and run home but I knew once I got in the sauna I would have no motivation to get back outside to come home.

I used to meet a buddy at the gym when I lived in Ohio.  We would do a morning spin class or swim.  Towards the end when I knew I was moving to Nashville we would go to the gym and sit in the sauna or hot tub and just bullshit instead.

6.1 miles yesterday. Negative temp wind chill and not as ambitious as the MI guys. Did the treadmill thing.

5.5 miles on the treadmill. Watched bloopers on ESPN which was somewhat dangerous.

Yeah, well, I agree, I'm not going to use the new shoes, I'm going to run slow, and if there's any pain I'll just stop. So, it's an opportunity to do a longish run with no pressure. I'll be happy if I get to mile 8 or so.

(Still with some walking minutes in between.)

20 trail miles today with lots of elevation. Tested out a new single track and around mile 17 I tripped on a root and took a header into the brambles. No serious damage aside from a few scratches and a lost pair of sunglasses. First time I've ever done that... quite humbling :).
