How many miles did you run today? - Page 621

Thanks!

I just hope I'm doing enough to survive this race well. It's 5 weeks from today!

Hopefully when I hit the taper, I'm ready to bounce off some walls for 20+ hours!

Planned to do a quick 5 miles this morning but felt so good that I turned it into 12.

2 miles for day #29. I seem to have some sort of stomach bug and mostly walked the 2 miles this evening but I had my running shoes on so I'm counting it.

3.2 miles today. Took 2 weeks off when my knee started to hurt, and today was my first day back at it. Felt great, no knee pain or any other pain whatsoever, and I did the run in 8:46 per mile. I'm going to keep it nice and easy for a few weeks to make sure I don't re-injure anything, but today was hopefully a good indicator that I'm not hurt.

Got a run in today and honestly it felt awful.  My pace was nice at 7:14/mi for 5 miles but I didn't enjoy the run.  Haven't been enjoying runs too much lately.  Must be some sort of funk I need to snap out of.

I went through something similar a few months back. If you run with a GPS device of some sort... Ditch it for a couple of days. Really helped me get back to enjoying a run without obsessing over distance, pace, tempo etc.

+1
Completely agree. I also found that running without a watch is really nice. Just enjoy being outside and don't worry about the pace.

Sounds like a good idea.  I ran the other night without a watch as it was dead and not knowing how long I was out there was rather nice.  Also I think cutting out music again may help as my playlist is getting really old.

6.2 miles today. I have tomorrow as a day off from running and this will end the year at 1821.8 miles. I posted over to running around the world.

Slowing down, taking a week off, running somewhere new, or finding a way to change things up always helps me. If you don't enjoy the run once or twice, no problem. If it becomes a chore, take a week off and relax. Go back out after that and run slow to just enjoy the feeling. Crank up some new music and go out for an hour and enjoy the run at a nice pace. Use it as time away from everything that bugs you.

Ran 10k over lunch with an ultra runner friend who spent the time trying to convince me to run my first 50k on Feb 2nd (I don't even run marathons, but I'm kind of considering it... thats crazy right?)

I stopped music back in early 2012 and have gone without GPS/HRM since August this year... it's pretty refreshing to just go out and run and not find some reason to beat myself up afterwards (too slow, too short, blah blah blah).

4 miles for me today on day #30. I'm still a bit under the weather but feeling much better than I was last night.

I finished my December daily run streak with 4.7 very cold miles this afternoon. 174 miles for the month. Not my best month ever, but definitely my best December that I can recall. 1,815 miles for the year.

Wrapped up 2013 with a 14 mile run. Totaled 1420 for the year. Pretty pleased despite missing my goal of 1500.

I don't track my mileage all that well... But I think I ran about 250 miles this month.

Finished off the year with an eight mile trail run on my favorite hill loop!
