This looks very cool, I'll have to add this to my list. So far I've only done a few 5k's, a 10k, and a half, and they've all been regular road running, nothing on trails. But I'd love to try something like this that's a little more out of the ordinary.

Woke up with a sore throat, so thought to myself that I'd pare down my run from 7.5 to 4 or 5 miles. I did 7.15, since I felt better running than not.

I'll go by the adage that if I start feeling congestion/sickness below the neck than it's time to take a full break. Otherwise, I feel very good today.

I put in just under 5 miles this morning in 17º weather with a windchill of 4º. I don't recall it being this cold this early in the season in a loooooong time. Hopefully we get a few more mornings above freezing.

Going home for thanksgiving so likely won't be able to run. My filson duffle will not accommodate such gear. Also Canada might be a reason.   peepwall%5B1%5D.gif

Canada is never a reason. I was running on snow there while visiting my wife's family in October last year (I was training for a race in Hawaii!).

They do a nice job with this. You'd have a blast running with everyone there. Have one in FL, WI, IN, and MI.

I ran the one in WI, the winter one is by you, and the guys who run the whole thing are right up by MP and CP selling them running gear at Running Fit in Ann Arbor. Small world.

Ran the JFK50 down in Maryland along the Patomic On Saturday. Clocked a 7:40:09. If someone is looking for a first 50 miler, I'd reccomend it. The course is managable, aid stations plentiful and it is extremely well run.

Nice!

It took me three tries to crack 10 hours for 50. I'm gunning for 100 in <24 next year. wink.gif

A speedy 6.3 miles this morning.

Regarding Running Fit and Dances with Dirt - I've been tempted to do the 50k in Hell each of the past two years but my friend who I would run it with can never make it back home to MI the weekend that it takes place and I get too bored during a 50k to run on my own. The last two I entered a few years ago I actually quit halfway through (although they were both freebies so maybe I would have been a bit more motivated had I had some skin in the game). How about we get a bunch of StyleForumers up to Hell next year and put a relay team together? satisfied.gif

As far as the Running Fit folks go, they are great. I was actually just in their Ann Arbor store last week while in town for a conference and their West Bloomfield store is my preferred running shop. I live about halfway between that Running Fit location and the running shop mecca of Hanson's Running and find the folks at Running Fit to be much friendlier and just as knowledgeable.
