How many miles did you run today? - Page 607

I ran 6.2 miles tonight, finishing around 11:30. This is the beginning of my night training for the hundred. I need to get used to running at night with only a headlamp and run in the coolest weather possible since my race will likely be in cold conditions.

Are you running where there are no street lights?  The reason I ask is that the trails I run on are part of a park and you are not suppose to be in the park after dark so I wondered if I ever did a 100 how I would ever train for trails at night.  The street lights offer a lot of light where I currently run but I wear a headlamp as some of the side walks can be sketchy and I don't want to fall.

6.3 miles this morning. The temp was only about 30º but the wind was gone and it was really perfect weather for running for this time of year.

I don't get the opportunity to run after work too often but when I do my pace is normally 40 seconds to a minute faster than what it would be in the morning. I figure not only am I better fueled but I'm probably much more limbered up compared to when I jump out of bed and right into my running shoes.

I have exactly the opposite experience, MP. After-work runs for me are always work whereas my morning runs are great. Are you a morning person otherwise?

Yes, I am definitely a morning person. Even on days I don't plan on running, I am usually up and out of bed before 6:00 a.m. Friends often think it is because I was in the Marine Corps, but to tell the truth, I rarely had to be up before 6:30 when I was serving and usually wouldn't be out of bed even by 7:00!

This Nike app is pretty sweet.

I live in an area that's hit or miss when it comes to street lights. The trails are closed, but it's super easy to sneak in. I might do some of that as my training progresses. The biggest challenge for now is becoming used to running at all times of day.

3.8 miles yesterday. Just getting back into some training. Will ease into things this week with every other day run. Maybe 15-20 miles this week.

Interesting Hoka article. I'm getting closer to trying them.

Nice article!

I'm thoroughly enjoying mine. I just started breaking in my second pair. It seems considerably wider in the forefoot than the other. Runs great though!

7.1 on wet trails today! It stopped raining just as I was starting and started again at mile 6.3... Good times!

3.3 today to get the rust off from a week off.  May put the fiancé's spin bike to use and pedal for a bit to loosen the legs up before runs now because the first mile is just warming up and getting into the rhythm.

Oatmeal and coffee taste so much better after a good morning run.

7.15 today, and same past two days. This has been on a treadmill, so maybe equal to 6.2 outside.
