3.5 in 31 minutes (out) to pick up the zipcar
steak lunch with the family
1.5 in 15 (back) after dropping off the zipcar

- the reason the return leg is quicker is because you know where you're f*in' going.

Tight left hamstring took five minutes or so to warm up. It'll be interesting to see what a slow 8+ tomorrow feels like. (Yes, it's possible to run slower than 10s

)

Edit:

Did 5.5 in 59 this morning. Left leg didn't like it at first. 10 in one weekend is the most I've run in five years, so I'm happy.

12 miles in 1:32:42. rawr

Slower pace than usual because of Saturday yardwork. Even splits except for the last loop, which was under 7:30 pace.

Feeling good about having gotten a solid week of rest, I think that my body needed it and that I am now fully recovered from my last race,
Looking to hit 75 miles this week. I found out that a friend of a friend wants help running the San Diego Rock'n'Roll Marathon, so I may help him train and focus on that run myself. I ran it last year and grew up in SD so I know the course, and it sucks, but it is at the perfect time for me to train, run some shorter races 1 half marathon and be totally ready.
We will see.
Hope everyone is feeling well

Thomas,
What is your time goal for the 1/2?

Well, it depends on a number of things. My PR is 1:42 and change, so I ought to beat that pretty easily (with reservations). I think 1:37 is within reach even on a mediocre day for me. 1:32-ish would be great, I can manage a flat-7 pace for a while - whether I can sustain it for 13 miles is another question entirely. The two variables that are scratching at the door: at Aramco I made a lot of mistakes - most notably I put a lot of pressure on myself to run a great race which in retrospect was counterproductive. I pushed the pace when I shouldn't have and paid dearly for it. So variable one that I'm trying to mitigate: expectations/pressure. Variable two is the weather: Last monday it was 65 and humid. Thursday it was mid-40's and dry. Way different results for each morning...and the kicker is that I haven't had time to acclimate to warm/humid, so if Sunday turns out warm/humid...then even 1:42 may be a stretch for me. Also, the race course is in seabrook so there's bound to be wind involved, it's a lightly-attended race, and a large part of the course is unprotected from wind - so I'm more at the mercy of the elements than usual. That said, I'm going with 1:37 and we'll see where I wind up.

Thomas-Good luck man. You have gotten damn fast.

I had a new PR for 5K today-22:27. Not sure where this speed is coming from.
The new diet really is kicking in I guess, plus Im shedding a few pounds a week.
the PF is getting much better, woke today with no pain in one foot and very little in the other.
