How many miles did you run today? - Page 515

I usually run 4 miles every other day on the treadmill. Today was the first time I ran on an incline, just did a 4% incline and 1 mile - damn it cranked my heart rate!

Day after Thanksgiving. I did not want to out and run. But did anyway and am glad of it. 4 miles. Cold and blistery winds.

6 miles, great weather here today, low 70s and sunny

6.6 miles this morning at my favorite spot in Chicago. A good and much needed run after gorging myself yesterday.

5 miles yesterday, faster pace than usual for my slow ass., 8 min miles. Today, easy 3 miles.

I keep on running into the problem that running makes me super hungry and I wonder what good it does in maintaing a 28 waist.

7 miles today with a tempo run. Cold and very windy at 30 degrees and gusts over 30 mph.

Seems like a good time for a warm weather gear topic. Quite a few on here from north and east and I'd be interested in discussing what keeps you warm enough to run all winter but not a ton of clothes.
Couple of items that I like:
- The sweatvac beanie. Got mine at Hammer, but I'm sure several sites have them. Keeps you warm, pulls off sweat and can be rolled up as needed if on a long run when it warms up an hour or so later. Really a great hat for cold weather.
- Sugoi 220 firewall jacket. Wore this today with a wicking t-shirt and was too warm. I think this would be good below 20-25 degrees. Great jacket and worth every penny. Very light, non-restrictive, and blocks wind. This is the best winter piece in my closet.
- Sugoi 180 firewall pants. Wont need until it drops to 20 degrees or less. Again, warm, wicking, and wind blocking.
- Other std gloves, compression gear, etc., but nothing else unique. Will be looking for winter socks (higher than ankle high).

Catching up, not a lot of running to report except for:

4 mile turkey trot in 24.08

6.5 today with a donut and coffee stop negating said run.

5 on T'giving with my father-in-law, then 2.5 the day after with brother-in-law, niece, and wife's uncle. Both runs at about 5000 feet. 14-year-old niece is running JV cross country and smoked all of us!

4 miles. Woke up to an inch of snow on the ground. And, it's not going away. Now, where I did I put the SmarWool leggings?

12 miles today, finished the whole run this time. Ran it really slow, but man my legs and all my joints are sore. I think I'll take at least a few days off, maybe a full week, depending on how long it takes for my legs to feel normal again.

In my experience, you'll probably feel better sooner if you go for a short run in the next couple of days. This assumes you're just sore, not in pain.

7.5 Thanksgiving, 5 yesterday, 6.2 today. I think thats about all of the bird, gone.

BG, if its sore, you can probably run through it. If its pain, lay off. The general rule for me is: if the feeling alters my stride, its pain, and I rest. If I trudge through it, its sore, and I work through.

I noticed some pain in my left knee, not sure what happened, may have landed on it awkwardly or something. I'll see how it feels in the next couple days before I decide if I want to try another run or not.

12.3 miles today. Nice medium long run.

Easy/Slow 21 today.
Feels nice to run a 20+ with no pressure or purpose, just out in the trails.
