Here's a video from a friend of mine showing the best and worst of my neighborhood during the storm, you'll recognize some of the spots from my run pictures. Raw nature is incredibly beautiful, and some people are incredibly stupid. The parents who took those little kids out deserve child endangerment charges.

Really good bit of video, well worth a watch. Inconveivable weather from a Brits point of view, I've always lived in wild places and we just dont get weather on the scale you guys do. I'm normally a bit sad about that but not in this case...

Easy 3 yesterday morning, last run before tomorrow's half. Feeling a bit anxious, to be honest.

A bit over 5 miles today. Ran in the Killarney National Park. May be the most scenic and beautiful area I have ever run in my life. Pics forthcoming when I return in a few days.
More fire: what you describe as outer knee pain sounds a lot like a friend of mines IT band issues.
NYR- hope things are cleaning up and tks for pics. Powerful storm.
Sb- good luck on the race.

God Sandy looks f8Cking awful. Thoughts go out to all affected.
Sad for everyone who got ready for the marathon as well, but I suppose cancellation was the only reasonable option. I hope that the resources can be diverted towards where they can be best used.
3 miles w/ strides for me today.
Nervous about my 5k tomorrow - legs feeling sore, but that's not always terrible before a race.

Thanks SBB. As far as the marathon goes, this is ALL on an out of touch mayor (and honestly, most politicians fall into this boat). Had the race been cancelled even as late as Wednesday, so many wouldn't have had such (deserved) ill feelings towards the city and NYRR.

Another 5 miles today, didn't push too hard since I have another record distance run coming up tomorrow.

5.4 miles. First run this week - messed up my hip during a workout on Wednesday. Probably ran too much too soon. uhoh.gif

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when Bloomberg insisted that the marathon needed to go on as scheduled, especially when he said that it wouldn't divert any resources away from those that still needed help in Sandy's aftermath.
