You could probably do it now...you're in decent shape to begin with and the rush of running in front of people will give you the boost...you'll do great. I ran Brooklyn this May, and really didn't train (got a bib from a buddy of mine the night before) and finished at a 7:39 clip...
And oh, starting the diet next week...
