Signing up for a half marathon or something may help motivate you - that's what made me more consistent

Everytime I try to run more frequently or longer my legs seem to deteriorate...my knees are a mess and I have a bad IT band. I'm not 23 any more...oh wait I still am. Most of my injuries im sure would be less of an issue if I actually stretched and used a foam roller I have in my closet.

Sam,

Planning on this: http://empirestatemarathon.com/ NYCM too rich for my blood this year, and such evil memories of it from last year. I'm sure you remember the write up.

You're doing it right? I'll keep my eye out and do some cheering for you, we'll coordinate when the date gets closer.

Tonight, another 9.5 @ 7:40, night run through industrial ghetto in Brooklyn.

Nah no NYC for me this year - I am off of the marathon kick til I can put down a fast 5k (sub 1540).
Boston cured me of the desire to run 2 marathons a year . . . .
Tonight I ran a workout with a buddy of mine who is lots faster than I am.
3 miles up @ 7 min pace
1 mile Threshold - 5:26
5x 1 minute on 1 minute off (about 5 min/mile for the on)
1 mile faster - 5:15
3.5 miles down.
Hard workout, but all felt good. I have been needing to run a little faster. I think the 5:16 last mile indicates that I can run faster than that pace for 5K.

4.8 today, and 4.8 two days ago. I'm eating too much popcorn from he Cape May Popcorn Co...feel like I should be doubling these...at least.

8.75 this morning. Ran through the public golf course for a bit—only along the paths—and had a guy come up on a cart to tell me no pedestrians allowed. I guess my previous trips through were anomalies...

Need to start training for my first half the first weekend in October. It's probably too late to shoot for the full marathon, right?

just recently got back into running, so this is my first post in this thread....got in 2 miles today, was going to keep going and got stuck in a torrential downpour. Hoping for better weather so I can go farther this weekend.
