Bay to Breakers coming up in less than three weeks. I'll be hitting the hill at the Cliff House at least once a week until then to get ready for the Hayes Street hill.
I'm running bay to breakers as well . . . Sent in my seeded entry thing today. Really looking forward to seeing the freak show! I just need to get a Mexican wrestling mask and a speedo and I'll be ready.

Good luck to you as well. No need to post pics, though. laugh.gif

I will be sure to be trench - coated if I post any pics to the web . . . . still have just over two weeks to get ready, which for me means one more week totally easy, one week of slightly/barely more miles and then race week. I will be there to have fun - and I don't have a formal 12K PR. Probably pretty close to 41 mins in good shape, so probably a few minutes slower.

Sounds like fun, lots of it. Pics of the event would be good, I'm curious.

I actually love to run in a nice summer rain... did it last night as it was a bit warm. but torrential? had that here tonight in addition to tornado warnings so no go. elliptical in the basement... plain.gif

I'll be running Bay To Breakers as well.

I try to run it every year. Though, to be honest, its more for the fun and less for the actual race.

It's certainly a freakshow. Last year my friends and I pushed a keg in a wheelbarrow for the whole race.

Should we actually try to meet up for B2B? I'll be running by myself, and this is my first time . This is the first time since I started running three years ago that I've been capable of running the distance and not been injured.

I've run in more than a few fall/wintery downpours, in 2003. These days, not so much - but there's been less rain now, too.

13.2, which is a new PR for distance! It was a bit slow, but it's something to build on.

wow.. what is "a bit slow" exactly? I'm in very good shape but how do you guys get your endurance up so high? I think I've done 13 miles in the last 3-4 days, but I don't really go for distance. Do you change your pace/technique a bit to run for distance?

btw... about 3.5 including stairs and sprints. Nice and warm today for some sun and a good sweat.... ahhhhh, summer is on the way!

I think it was around 9:12/mi, much slower than fellas like Sam. I'm shooting for a sub-9 pace at that distance.
