How many miles did you run today? - Page 405

I second what Sam said. My shorter runs keep getting faster as my long runs get longer. For example, I ran 12 miles yesterday at the pace that I used to do 3 or 4, and now my 3 pace is more than a minute faster.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try and get some long runs in and sign up for a half marathon.

I had a short fast run today  1.3 miles plus another .5 or so walking. Fit it in before having guests over for dinner

Ran the NYC Half yesterday - 1:19:55 - def feeling good about the time (a PR). Too bad there was a headwind along the west side drive or I probably could have run cut another 30 seconds off my time.

congrats! I heard last year was run in freezing (like 20ºF) temps... yesterday it was mid spring temps.

I want to run the brooklyn half but they keep keeping the registration opening date a secret. I'm going to be on vacation this friday for a week in Peru and I bet thats when the registration opens and will promptly sell out in a day.

my fastest two mile runs where the week after running a half marathon. I actually ran a half marathon I did the normal 8 week training before hand then ran the half. I was doing recovery runs the week after of only 2-2.5miles.

I'm a super slowpoke (about 10min/mile) but those recovery runs I was doing 8:30 a mile and was amazed at how easy it was especially since it was the week after the half.

Lawrence,

The delay is this new Bonnaroo-esque food fest in prospect park, 40K people expected, scheduled for same day, 5/19. NYRR is getting jerked around on the course I'm sure. Which isn't any excuse for the way they handle it.

You're right on registration though: They told me they would give 48 hours of warning when reg. opens, and they expect it to sell out in about 5 hours.

Had 2 short runs yesterday - 2.6 miles on the treadmill in 24:14 with lots of hills worked in, then got in a nice 3.3 miles in CP after work in 33:19. Calves are still recovering from Sunday, but are starting to feel better.
