How many miles did you run today? - Page 399

got 10 or 11 today w mediocre 10k in 36:30 for 5th overall and 1st age group. I really felt bad on the first loop of a 2 loop course, probably just tired, but ended up settling in for the second loop. Time was slow, but overall place was good. I won an hour long massage from a pretty good local spa for my efforts smile.gif
Ended up with a pretty large week - somewhere close to 90 miles.

Sam is a running machine. I just accept that and move on...

11.1 today along the shore of our beautiful bay. Started by the ballpark, out to Crissy Field, then back.

Did New York do a trade with the Giants or something? Baseball's not really my sport...

They were ours from 1883 to 1957 when they left Manhattan for San Fran. All of my immigrant ancestors were HUGE Giant fans, and it was Giants baseball that taught them how to be "American", for better and for worse.

Now I see what you meant. I think they're well and truly San Franciscan now! i think you may have transposed the last two digits on the move date, though.

Nice week Sam and Sugarbutch.

7 tempo miles early this morning. Week 5 of marathon training in the books - a total of 60 miles.

Nice job Sam.

I decided to run roads in prepping for the NYC half, got in 7.8 miles on Saturday in 53:40 and 11.1 in on Sunday in 1:21:50. Not my best efforts - need to ramp things up this week.

Nice pics and great race Sam.

26.2 on Saturday, a worse-than-hoped for time (3:56:29), which was pretty weird. At Chevron I ran the first 18 straight through and then the wheels came off, and I had a 16-minute difference between the first and second halves. This time around I went out more conservatively (my hip worried me a bit and I also never got my waking heart rate down when I thought it should be) and I still was 16 minutes slower for the second half. The weather could not have been better, the course was nearly dead-flat with just a few quirks, but almost no spectators until the very end.

I'm not sure I'll ever figure out this marathon distance. Next race is a half on April 1, and after that, maybe the SA marathon this fall if I can talk someone into running it with me.

Coogans Salsa Blues & Shamrocks 5k yesterday. Was a wild course two huge hills you have to run back and forth on. i ran it with friends and we started at the very end... it took 13min just to get to the start (there were near 5,000 runners)...

Thomas - everything has to go right to have a good marathon - including like 2343 factors beyond human control. You took care of business on what I have heard is a tough course, and still broke 4 hours. Way to go dude!!!

5.17 miles in 57:32. Will I need special shoes for XC or will I just be able to buy studs that screw into my normal running shoes? Also how do you lot hear about different races?
