it's been unseasonably warm for this time of year and nice and sunny.... great to be outside for a few miles today!

Quicker than any I've run. Nice going!

Sunday: 13 easy
today: 4 very un-fun miles in an awfully warm and damp morning.

Marathon is one week away, and I think that the normal taper just doesn't work for me. I took most of last week off due to foot and family issues, and after that rest I'm really sluggish, but I think if I bang out some decent mileage this week I'll be good to go Sunday.

I think I'll try to start posting in this thread. GF moved in with me a couple of weeks ago. She's quite the health nut (super healthy food 99% of the time for me now). She does almost all of the cooking...even makes our lunches (nice). Anyway, she's a workout person. I haven't been in over a year. Well, she invited me to join her Sunday morning on a run. We did 2.5 miles. It was the first time I've ran in years (usually use a recumbent bike). I was extremely scared of looking like a major puss in front of her, but I somehow did pretty dang well. Like I said, she works out a lot, yet she was having to chase me for most of the run. Maybe it's this cold NY air that helps me with endurance or something.

Anyway, checking in with my first 2.5 miles. Hope to add many, many more and drop about 20 lbs in the process.

10 miles this morning @ about 630 pace. Just got over a broken foot so trying to get back in shape. 10 miles was surprisingly easy.

10 miles tonight in 1:01:20, with the last 2 miles at around 5:55 pace. Felt really quick and efficient, but i got a huge blister on the front of my right arch from about 4 miles in... stopped at 5 miles and removed the insole of my shoe to see if that would help.. made it a little more bearable, but the damage was already done and it kept getting worse :/
I wore a pair of Adidas Adizero Adios flats that i haven't worn very much besides using them on the treadmill last winter (dont remember having any blister issues then), and the Adidas logo is what did me in.. the foremost of the 3 stripes is what was causing the blister. Sucks because the shoes felt good otherwise.

I only ran 3 miles tonight on the treadmill at a very slow pace. I am still sore from my sprint workout on Saturday (my first in nearly 20 years) and I am nursing an adductor strain. It felt good to run through the soreness.

Ive had similar problems like this with adidas. Its a shame that they mess up the details because the shoes feel great otherwise.

Have you ran San Diego before?
I've done it the last two years and can give you the lowdown on the course as it gets nearer.
Stoked to see lots of new people on the thread.
I am back running on thursday. In the meanwhile I have been doing some really boring exercycle workouts.
Going to have 12 weeks for boston.
Can't wait to get current with the thread again.

4.25 miles.

Thomas: Enjoy your "taper" and kick butt in Houston.

Sam: What plan will you use for Boston and what is your goal?

Jweid: funny, I too have had chafing problems running in my Adizeros.

Thanks!

last interval workout this morning, one of my favorites: 3 x 300 in 1:06, 100m rest between - 3 sets with 300m rest between sets. Didn't break me, I didn't stop to walk during the rest, and I still had enough in the tank to jog home afterwards.
