7 miles in 46:37 last night in Central Park. Weather was mild, and there were hundreds of people out, suprising for this time of year.

5 miles last night...

1.25 on the treadmill at the gym after lifting for 90 minutes the night before, plus 6 on the bike at a resistance level of 10 (out of 15)

Hockey game tonight, and some well deserved rest either Friday or Saurday...maybe even both

just a couple of brisk miles to get the legs moving again after a cold: 2.6 miles, just under 21 minutes. Felt pretty good, actually.

4 miles last night. I'll do a 10 - 15 miler on Saturday as I begin my taper for a marathon on Super Bowl Sunday.

3.2 in ~26 minutes. Nice and easy pace, trying to recover from a knee I hurt a few days ago. Now both knees hurt. FML.

Another 5K yesterday. Completely pain free! hurray
smile.gif
Still in recovering mode from it band problems, and this new approach (only a few km every time, but often a week) seems to work. For those who are running in the morning, how do you get your muscles loose? After waking up, my legs feel so stiff (?) that I cannot imagine running in a relaxed way. Any tips for running in the morning?

I do what some people refer to as dynamic stretching. Stand tall at a 90 degree angle to a wall, place one hand against the wall and swing each leg out and back (with big arcs) about 15 times. Then, face the wall, bend over, plant both hands on the wall and swing each leg side to side (again, with a large sweep) about 15 times. Then, do about 20 mountain climbers. Even on the most groggy mornings (which is most of the time!) this gets me going. I'm sure that there are many other forms of dynamic stretching. I think the worst thing one can do prior to a run is to do static stretching. Here is a link to a YouTube video demonstrating this warm up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmars...om=PL&index=13
