How old are you? I think that "around 20 minutes" is pretty much the cap for most guys in decent shape who are not training specifically to get a faster 5 or 10 K. I have, during different times, been able to run in the 18:30s consistently, and have brought it down below 6 minutes miles even, but I find that, if I run an random 5 K road race, without having done anything particular special in preparation, that I'll clock in at about 19:30.
