Nice.

I'm back in the saddle after some time off for foot pain. 8 miles last weekend, probably 8 again Saturday. Not ready for 10-12 yet. Today is 45 minutes of hills on the treadmill

Anyone in DC area running the Army ten-miler or the Bmore marathon this fall?

Hills on treadmill sounds like no fun at all.

how long were you sidelined?
Im just starting to run again after all of april and may and off because of a lower-leg injury, which kept me from running a Marathon i had signed up for

Longest ive ran so far since ive started up again is 7, and im trying to hold myself to 30-35 miles a week for now... I dont feel I have the endurance right now to run much more than 9 or 10 miles, plus im afarid of re-aggravating the injury.
I actually ran a 5k race last saturday, kinda as a test for my leg and of my speed, and surprisingly ran 17:50. I did do alot of elliptical machine and pool-running at the gym while i wasnt running, so i think that helped me maintain some fitness.

Tonight i ran 6 miles @ about 6'30 pace. its pretty hot and humid out and i was feeling a little fatigued the last mile or so.

Hills on the treadmill is funny, because I really get my heart rate up and sweat, but only running a 9-minute pace. I'm sure everyone in the gym thinks I'm going to have a heart attack.

Forecast for the weekend doesn't look good for a long run. 94 and humid Saturday

****, I was proud to slog though 4 miles this morning: 80+ degrees, and dripping humidity. The pool felt like bathwater at 4:30 this morning. I chose to live here? wtf.

Pushed through to 3 miles on Tuesday then immediately signed up for a 5k this Saturday. Today I did 30 mins/7 miles on the exercise bike then played in my Ultimate Frisbee league. Tomorrow is a rest day before the 5k. Let's hope I make it!

I live in a rural farming area, with orchards of citrus trees that are 20' high.

Came across a rattlesnake, but no one else. Back again tomorrow. Rest when you die!

Ran my second ever 5k this morning, finishing in 28:55. That's a 1:15 improvement over my earlier 5k. I was pretty pleased with that.

At the finish line:

They also did a 400m kids race, which my 9, 6 and 3 year old all ran. Here I am pacing my 3 year old at the finish line to great applause. She came in first in her age-gender division:

That's great Alan. You should be happy about the progress in time! 1:15 in a single race is impressive.

5k race this morning in 17:34. It was oppresively hot and humid here, even at 8am, plus i went out way too fast for the first mile, and it made the last mile+ a struggle... i'm glad i didnt just stop and walk at some point because i was really thinking about it.

3 year old start running already, she will have great potential in the future I suppose.

Ran 3.5 miles today, 28 minutes, definitely can be faster.
