I'll be racing a 5k monday, and then another on the 9th.
I don't think I am in good 5k shape, but my entries are comped so why the hell not.
No speed workouts this week mean I am even less likely to pop off a good one this weekend. Oh well.

re vegas half - I haven't but I heard that last year the organizers f*cked it up pretty bad. They used to start it outside of vegas and run it straight downhill for 13.1 miles. It is still pancake flat at least.
I would say go for it this year - I am sure the organizers will feel tons of pressure to make up for last year, and the rock'n'roll series has tons of resources at their disposal.
I am also biased, because I love a good game of blackjack.

12 total today. 10 early with 5k of 60 seconds hard/60 seconds easy. Ended up finishing the 5k in just over 18 minutes, so the accelerations felt good.

After I lifted/did core I ran 1 mile easy 1 mile accelerating each 400.
Good day of runs/workouts.

4.6, about as fast I can run over that distance. B2B showed me that I need to make sure I get some shorter, faster runs in along with the distance.

I love your consistency though.

Nothing remarkable, I changed from Mizuno Inspire 8 to Brooks Ravenna 3... I don't run as fast as most of you, I'm 6,1" 180lb ... I just try to average 150 bpm @ a pace of around 9:00 , and finish with a sprint

Been gone a while.
Raced the Ice Age Trail 1/2 the other weekend. I downgraded from the 50K due to lack of prep. and was going to run with my Dad who didnt show up.
Learned alot and was humbled by a distance I thought should be a breeze.
Ran a 1:55 with 15 minutes in an aid station with ice on my head after being stung on the top of my head by a wasp.
My 10K split was 49:55 which was close to my target, then blamo, stung.
I kind of freaked out after losing 15 minutes, and ran like an idiot for the next 3 miles, destroyed my quads (its basically 1500 vert gain and 1700 loss loop, very steep ups and downs, and no flat), then stopped running, only to be inspired to finish by a lady that looked like my birth mom, who ran with me to then finish.
It was an awesome challenging trail and will do the 50K next year.
Im now training up for the Dances with Dirt Devils Lake race in July, havent decided on a distance yet either marathon or 50K, but may just do the half as its not a loop and you get all the cool trails in the shorter distance.
My hip is destroyed right now from a fall on Kennesaw Mountain last week on a business trip-Awesome trail there btw.

I ran a 10 mile race today, I usually do a 10 K run once a week, and I have only been able to run once in the past month. went not bad, I am tired, but I enjoyed it

I ran 7 miles this morning followed by an hour workout at the beach. I hope to run barefoot on the beach tomorrow morning. This afternoon I plan to be on the beach, showing off.
