Alright, so I will still do some long jogs on the weekend...
@time: I honestly dont know what to aim for ... last year, I finished my half-marathon in 1:23 hrs and was quite satisfied with that. So sub20 for sure ... but as it is the first time on a shorter distance, I cannot really estimate how fast / slow I am.

Gotta increase the volume now in small steps as I've been swimming more and only running three times a week...

3 generations went for a run yesterday...me, my dad and my son (in his running stroller). Wasn't feeling so well (came home with a fever)...thankfully it seems to have broken. But certainly a memorable 4.2 miler.

4 miles. Absolutely gorgeous with a slight wind, perfect for a midday run.

With a 1:24 half you shouldn't change training much, just do some repeat 400's on a track (eg 12 - 16 x 400 starting every 2:45 secs) that should help you get some turnover going for a shorter race. You should obliterate 20 minutes (for a 5k even!). You will do well, no doubt.

Long jogs have their place for recovery days. Can't do intervals / speedwork everyday.

Ran TNFEC 50 miler at Bear Mountain this weekend. Ran a 9:50:37 which is a PR on the course by about 45 minutes. Even had enough kick in the legs to log the last 3 miles all in sub 9 min pace. Got in 5.1 miles in CP yesterday easy in 54:13

Myles - way to go - you're an inspiration as always.
Quevola - how did you feel about your results? I had a lot of friends run well yesterday at OC. I cant recall if you were looking for closer to 90 minutes or not.
15ish today in the beautiful california hills.

Complete madness! Tremendous effort and very inspirational to mortals such as myself who think tiny distances are hard. Hope your pleased with your time, regardless of the details an amazing achievement that very few are able to match.

4 miles this a.m. Foggy, but comfortable. 55 degrees, no wind. Rather perfect running conditions.
