4.5 at a very comfortable stride. Beautiful jogging weather in LA these days.

18.7 miles today.  A little more than my legs wanted but the whole trail loop is 18.7 miles so no turning back.

3.5 last night, but mostly up and down ridiculous hills in around Buena Vista and Corona Heights parks with the SF Hash House Harriers. If I do that again, I need a stronger light!

I got in my normal 1.6 miles last night.

Today I ordered a Garmin 910XT to replace my dying Garmin 305.  I went with another triathlon focused watch over one of the running focused watches for a couple of reasons.  The 910 has a barometric altimeter for calculating elevation, up to 20hrs battery life, and was under $200.  While a lot of my buddies wear Suunto, they are still quite pricey and I am familiar with Garmin.

The Garmin 305 was on its last legs with a battery that would vary wildly from charge to charge and while I could take my phone, it is just not easy when you just run in some shorts and shoes with no place to put it.

Fenix? DC rainmaker has good reviews.

Tired out an alternative route today after seeing a hiker take a fork I'd never noticed before. Ended up with 5.9 miles and about 1200 ft of elevation. Looking forward to working this into my longer runs when I want some extra ups (and rattlesnake encounters)

5.1 miles this morning.

I did not look at the Fenix but after a quick look this morning it is only slightly more expensive (via Amazon) than the 910xt.  Now you have me questioning my decision.  More research is needed but from a quick comparison, the Fenix is better in every dimension.

EDIT: Ordered a Fenix2.  Only $47 more than the 910xt.  All of this started with wanting a Garmin 310xt which was only $130 but I am now $230 into this.  Gotta love new toys.

But now you're one of the cool kids. Enjoy the new watch.

4.3 this afternoon, negative mile splits. Not fast, mind you, but progressively faster. :-)
