How many miles did you run today? - Page 76

Ran for the 4th time ever a couple days back and finally managed to do 3mi exactly. I am just aiming to do around 4-5mi max and then build upon dropping the time so I can enter 5ks and be successful and not just finish. I don't think I could do too much more than that as my body overheats very quickly and my face turns red even on the smaller 3mi runs. I lose a large amount of fluid very quickly and have to run with a water bottle.

It's been tough lately since it's so humid and it lasts from even the early morning to evening.

Hello everyone,
I want to start running this week. Any advice for this noob? Tomorrow, I'm stopping by this running store to buy some shoes. Anything I should know before I get hustle? lol
Thanks.

Start slow, easy and short...and gradually increase your mileage and tempo...no more than 5-10% increase per week.

I did cardio and abs today. I ran outside and don't know how much ground i covered, but I jogged for 40 minute with short walks once in a while. First time in 2 years. Knees are a little sore. Gonna use a bike at the gym in the future.

30 second sprints followed by 30 second jogs for 10 minutes or so? You run on the streets with a sled?

Just another 3 miles to see if my knees would hold it. I've been using a heart rate monitor and to my suprise I have to run a lot slower to keep my heart rate below 160 than I thought I would. Almost no pain in my knees afterwards, so maybe I've just been running to fast for a starter.. Anyway, glad to be running again!

Joined 9,000+ other runners in the 10 mile Crim Race in Flint, MI on Saturday. Hill training and interval training made a huge difference. In spite of what is heard in the national media, there are parts of the city which are absolutely gorgeous. A fantastic race.

Holy cow. Nice going!

Saturday the wheels came off and I stopped on the third loop and turned back. Sunday I slept in, (at least as much as I tend to allow), and spent the day working on the pool and the yard, which was still arduous.

Today: 4 miles in 34:20 or so. Form's falling off, but I was still tired from the weekend. Should probably take a few more days off and sleep in.
