5.5 easy miles today.

Maybe for some. I find a long trail run deep in the woods w/ or w/o some music playing as one of the most enjoyable things I could do.
If you're on a tread mill or the road, give the single track a shot.

9 miles on and around the track (and athletic fields at a local high school). The highlight was 12x400 on 2:00 intervals. Embrace the pain!

3.8 miles this morning. We had just gotten another 3" of snow overnight and the roads were not yet plowed. I was running through a hilly, wooded, residential area and it was definitely beautiful... but very slow going.

4 miles on the treadmill at varying speeds and inclines.  Finished it with some of those Nike workout things that I could remember.  I can see how it could hurt with too many reps.

5.1 again today with more pullups and dips at the halfway point. Trying to work my way up to doing a muscle up...some people make those look so easy and even though I've been doing pullups forever, I still can't do one frown.gif I really need to work on my form.

When I was in the Marines, I could easily do 30+ dead hang pull-ups in one set. I don't think there was a chance in hell that I would have been able to do a muscle up though.

I used to know a guy who had been in the Taiwanese Army who would do sets up muscle ups for speed. The dude could do something like ten in 15 seconds... Of course, he might have weighed 105 pounds...

When I did CrossFit, muscle ups used a bit of a kip to help get over the bar and into position.  Is that the only way or is there some dead hang version too?  I couldn't do them as I couldn't put the whole swing-kick-pull motion all together.  One guy though could do maybe 2 dead hang pull ups but could do muscle ups.

Yep they are very different animals! I'm slowly learning that grip has a huge factor in the movement, I need to work on that.

That's crazy...but I weigh almost double that so the body-weight exercises always seem to be a little difficult for me at first until I get used to them.

I've seen videos of guys do dead hang muscle ups, but it's much easier to start with the swinging ones and then work your way up from there.

8 hilly miles tonight = happy legs!

8 miles today. Running partner was struggling so I took advantage and crushed him on the final mile (a rarity). Feeling good.
