Sorry to hear it. I find that insomnia (which I suffer from on-and-off) doesn't affect me physically only mentally, i.e. I can run, but I'm stupid. At least the running seems to clear my head for a while...

5.1 miles for me this evening.

Did 13.5 miles yesterday evening - hadn't ran that long in months and now the legs are ... umm ... sore ... But, feeling good, feeling good!

Got in 1-2 miles last night (need to measure out that short route) then 4.6 miles this morning.

Talked to a Physical Therapist about my knee last night.  Couldn't reproduce any pain and couldn't find any issues with my knee movement or any kind of scraping/grinding of bone on bone contact.  Said my left leg was more muscular than my right leg and that my left leg might be the longer of my two legs.  Recommended some stretches and a knee sleeve for a few weeks to see how it reacts.

I may end up with a gym membership for some basic strengthening as I do nothing right now.

6.1 total miles today. Ran in am and then did a workout later on the incline trainer. While I am going to spend more time then I ever have on a treadmill this winter, I'm trying to keep it interesting. Did a workout this evening and got in 1227 ft gain in 30 min. My quest to become a mountain goat this winter. Should help the trail races next year.

Awesome, great to run in new places overseas. Always exciting.

6.2 miles in the rain for me this evening... This was the first substantial rainfall of the season for us, and man, do we need it!

Tough to beat a treadmill for gain on the east coast.  I am going to try more steep hiking in a couple of parks around here to get some gain but those are in east TN which is a couple hours drive from Nashville.

Got in 4.5 miles with the trail group tonight.  First run where a head lamp was seriously needed for footing.  I use it on the streets but more for cars to know I am there.  A fun dynamic to the normal trails.

Does half an hour of jump rope count? Jump rope in the backyard is a great alternative when it's too late to go out running.

I can respect the jump rope.  I could never do double unders with consistency but after about 15 minutes of jump rope my calves burned.

5.5 miles at sunset this evening at a decent pace for me. First 5 miles at an 8:20 pace, with 2 at about 7:55. Last half miles was easy pace...

6 miles today...

9 miles today with my knee brace.  If I slow down, no pain, try to speed up and the pain rears its ugly head.  Slowing my run down and enjoying it may not be such a bad thing.

I was hoping to get in about 5 or 6 miles this afternoon but I took a couple spills on the ice this morning walking home from getting my coffee and donut(s). It wasn't icy on my way to the bakery but when I walked out after getting my goods it immediately began freezing rain pretty hard. I fell flat on my back twice on the two mile walk back home (and nearly fell another 3 or 4 times), It had warmed up enough to melt away all the ice and snow by lunch but I was still a bit sore. Hopefully I'm not too bruised or sore in the morning.

The important thing though is that I never spilled more than a drop of coffee and all the donuts survived... but mainly because they were all safe and sound in my belly by the first time I hit the deck.

I short-changed my post... 6.2 miles in 53:30 this afternoon out along the San Francisco Bay Trail. Good times!
