How many miles did you run today? - Page 673

Wow. That's incredible.

That is amazing Fueco!  Is there a time limit on the solo rides?  I could see some of the ultra-bikers taking their time for the cross country trip.

As for me I had 16.5miles today on the trails.  The air was heavy and my shoes were wet early.  Somehow my min/mi dropped a lot more than usual but I assume it was heat + wet conditions and not wanting to injure myself.

I'm curious, do you get self-conscious about catching Ticks and Chiggers?

I've had ticks before.  The trails I run on are park trails so nothing really back country.  As for chiggers (I had to look up what those were) I don't think I've had those.  I've had some random bumps that are either mosquitoes or something else but nothing serious.  The biggest issue I currently have is dirt and grime on my Achilles which then gets rubbed by my shoes causing some minor issues.

Oh, I see. As long as you spray yourself with some good repellant, you should be okay. Yeah, Chiggers are prevalent in moist environments (or places where it's wet). You don't wear those shoes that model your foot? I've read that the Vibram 5F shoes are pretty good.

Nope.  I wear New Balance 890 v3's currently and will probably try out the v4 when I need a new pair.  New Balance does not make a 8mm drop shoe in a 12.5 so I haven't bought a dedicated trail shoe yet.  I have a couple that I like but I don't want to spend $130 on trail shoes.

6.5 miles outside today. Didn't plan on taking a run, but it happened and was grand. I listened to sports talk radio here in Philly about drafting two players who won't play for at least 1 - 3 years.

12.25 in what passes for heat in San Francisco. Managed to keep a good pace, but had some heart-rate spikes—at least according to my Garmin—but I didn't feel any different.

17 hot, humid, somewhat muddy trail miles today.

Congrats to wife Fueco. Awesome ride. Nice job crewing and getting her there.

New Inov8 were a bit disappointing. I have 5 other models of Inov8, so I'm a big fan, but these were a bit heavy and not mud friendly. Slipped a slid a bit. The tread is similar to a Brooks Cascadia. For something long that isn't a mudder, I'll stick with the NF single track hyasau's.

The cutoff is 12 days for men under 60. For everyone else, it's 12 days, 21 hours.

I just finished a 6.5 mile run through farmland in northern Minnesota (Clearbrook). Now I'm chilling and watching my brother's team in a softball tournament.

Got in 9.2 miles this morning.  Was going for another 14 miles but my Achilles was a little tender so I stopped.  It was raining so my road shoes were not offering much traction.  Need to figure out trail shoes asap.

5.75 this morning. Pretty uneventful, but ran through a cemetery a couple times until it dawned on me that I may seem a creepoid.
