Bumpin this beastly old thread, cause I'm obsessed with the vintage flight jackets!

Just copped this one off of ebay for ridiculously cheap. I'm crossing my fingers on the authenticity of it, but figured for $40 it'd be a good score even if it was a repro (label doesn't look like an Alpha?). I'm sure the chances are the zippers will be Scovill r/t Crown or Conmar, but it was a gamble I couldn't pass up on...

I'lll update this thread with my "authentication" (e.g. manufacturer including zippers)... If a true early spec, I basically ripped this guy off!






Also, if anyone's selling, hit me up (size 38-40, or medium)!

Thx, man! My fingers are crossed.

In the mean time, take a look at this beauty: Vtg L-2A size 38- PERFECT!! It went for $405, which was about $100 more than I was willing to pay .

... ended up being a Weintraub Bros repro... got my money's worth, but no more... Tag looks kike this: I'd post bragging pics if it was OG, but gonna save myself the embarrassment! Oh well. On to the next adventure, meaning an A-2...

this seems to be the most applicable thread for this so:

does anyone have experience with u.s. wings jackets? i'm looking at their a2-2000, and i don't know much about quality/fit, but they have some super special thing going on and i'm looking to pick up soon i think

I would not put much money down on one of their A2s, even if only $195.

If I were you, I'd sock that cash away towards a higher end (doesn't have to be top end) used repro from eBay or one of these forums. Or, if you are feeling the urge, spend about EUR 400/shipped on one from Bill Kelso: better price-to-quality/authenticity ratio than most:

Bill Kelso Mfg. Co.

All spec materials, and cut. No crappy mccrap!

Glad to see some more action on this thread!

I recently picked up my BR x WG MA1, and can't wait for the first sign of cold weather!!!
