I'm in the same boat (between a 36 and 38) and knowing how, if any, the fit changes will be important!

1. New full canvas production made by an Italian company in Europe - we are doing a test run which we expect to receive by the end of next month.
2. MTM suits and jackets by this same company which we then hope to offer by the new year
3. SO CLOSE to signing a lease for a shop in a posh London suburb
4. Bella Spalla winter coats should be coming by the end of November, as are more trousers

Now the bad news: We will be offering the MTO jackets this week, BUT as things stand they will only be in Regular sizes which means no shorts or longs. But take heart, hopefully the MTM will completely replace the MTO by the new year. There is a chance if enough of you guys in Short and/or Long can narrow it down to 2 or 3 fabrics and we can get say at least 15 of you guys (in each category of short and long) to commit to those fabrics three fabrics, I may be able to convince the factory to make me an exception.

@eHaberdasher This is all very exciting news! Although, no short in the MTO jackets means I'm out this round. :(

One question, will all Benjamin items (suits, jackets, pants) and Bella Spalla coats and pants be coming from the same factory/company? And does this mean that there will be general continuity of sizing and fit? As much as possible it would be extremely helpful to know that if a 38s Bella Spala coat fits then a 38s Benjamin suit will fit too!

Thanks for all of your hard work, commitment to quality, style, AND your customers!

I'm a pretty solid 38L in the last run. If the jacket is longer, then I might be able to make it work. if not, then I'm likely out for this round.

For suits: Half canvassed probably starting at $650 and full canvas around $795. There will be a standard block as a basis. We will also be offering this in our shop in London hopefully by early December.

Thanks.

Cheers,

You will be able to order 34R in the next MTO, but otherwise may not have more any time soon.

Yes, for MTM you will be able to adjust and customise measurements.

Thanks in advance.

Not quite as full as the past Bella Spalla runs. This is a different model, different factory, softer shoulder and just slightly longer in the body.

Thanks for the diagram Ben.

To translate, it looks like you highlighted size 50 on the chart, so I am assuming that would be the 38.

On the last round of MTO, a 38R was 29.25 from back of collar (a hair under 74.5 cm). The 38 on the chart (if 50 is the right size) is 75 cm from the back of the collar.

So this would be a bit longer than the last round, but less than the 2 cm you had originally proposed adding back in May: http://www.styleforum.net/t/69315/www-ehaberdasher-com-affiliate-page/3200_100#post_8442691

Did I get all that right?

I can appreciate your concerns regarding consistency of fit, but please also understand there are differences between different silhouettes and models (let alone factories). A softer more Neapolitan shoulder is by nature going to be slightly fuller, and while we've lessened the disparity between the Benjamin Sartorial and the Bella Spalla with this new factory, the Bella Spalla will still be just slightly fuller than the Sartorial line. In theory you should now be ordering the same size as you normally would order.

Hope that helps.

Hope that helps!

50 is actually a 39/40R. I was going back and forth with the factory about making the jacket longer, but when we did one that was 2 cm longer it just wasn't quite right, so we ended up with these final measurements. The 50 was highlighted because that's the sample size that was made.

They actually said most people are asking for even shorter jackets. I was in Rubinacci today here in London and the jackets are REALLY short, and drop 6! The jackets were probably at least 3 cm shorter than my Bella Spallas.

Gotcha. Well, given how the shoulder has narrowed and the jacket length has shortened further, I'm probably not in a 38 anything anymore in this new model. Looks like I'll wait for the 2017 MTM program then.

I'd love it shorter! The current Bella Spallas are like regulars to me.

These are great prices!

Will you still be offering OTR / MTO Sartorial Suits as well?
