I wonder if anybody has altered a benjamin suit --> I like the cut a lot, except for the waist --> too scooped (still fits me, but looks a bit feminine to my eye). I wonder if it is safe to let out the waist 1 inch, or is it going to somehow affect the whole silhouette in an unpredictable way?

I've altered mine but nothing major - cuffed the trouser legs and slightly adjusted the sleeves. Aside from that, it fit me well - this is a mid-grey Granoro. I've just ordered a navy Satorial suit which has a slightly different cut, I believe, and from the measurements, I'll have to get the trouser waist taken in a little but I'll post back if there's anything else I change.

Ben, is that a typo where it says the waist of the trousers is 38 inches for a 42L suit????  The Granoro waist was 35.5.  Is this right?

ALERT: THE TROUSER WAISTS WERE MEASURED INCORRECTLY. 42 COMES WITH 36, 40 COMES WITH 34, 38 COMES WITH 32, 36 COMES WITH A 30 WAIST, ETC.

Sorry for the confusion and we are making the corrections on the site this morning!

Could very well be a typo (I would imagine). Unfortunately I'm not there but will have someone check on Monday for you.

Hey Ben,

I ordered the new suit knowing it'd be sold out quickly, but noticed that the Classico trouser waist size for 36S is a 31? I hope that's some form of typo because the Granoro's waist was a 29.

Ok, in that case, I won't need to take the waist in

Tux's and pants should be up today. We currently only have one of each size tux - getting more in about 6 weeks.

Has anyone else needed to size up with a granoro or classico? Got my classico and it is too small in the shoulders and chest, even though the measurements posted on-line were in my usual ballpark. Similarly, the measurements posted for the pants said they would be too big, but they fit great with no alterations (so well, that I better not put on any weight).

I'm considering sizing up from a 42L to a 44L in the jacket, but apprehensive that it will be too big a jump (0.5 inches in shoulders and 2 inches in chest). Has anyone else sized up successfully in these models?

Good looking suit, if I can get it to fit.

Can anyone comment on the fit of the classico pants compared to the granoro pants, specifically in the seat? I have a bit of an ass, so I had to let the granoro out a bit...if the classico is any slimmer I am doomed. If it is closer to the verdi (though I doubt it due to the leg opening), maybe I'll be in luck.

I received the Classico (36S) and can say that the pants fitted me better than the Granoro. The Granoro was too fitted and felt tight without room to breath comfortably or even tuck in dress shirt, whereas the Classico is about half an inch bigger, which is perfect for me. Even though the website shows a 6 inch drop, Ben even said himself in an earlier post that the Classico's pants are only about a cm bigger than the Granoros.

That's correct. The trousers from the Classico are .5" larger in the waist and slightly fuller through the seat/hips. Also narrowed the leg by 1cm at the bottom of the leg from the knee down. Regarding drop, it is a true 6 inch drop. Most other brands say drop 6 but it's really probably more like drop 5 (vanity sizing, again). I recently bought some really great Onia swim trunks and had to buy size 31. My waist measures 33". Sadly, this is very common and only causes confusion to most consumers.

I received my Classico today (41/42R) - very nice suit, but I think I have the same question as New Shoes1.

I am 5' 10" 185 lbs. I can go down to a 40R in most Hickey Freeman and I would say that a 52R Canali fits me pretty darn good off the rack. I am wondering if this jacket is too small? It definitely fits tighter than a 52R Canali. Is this too small or I am I just not used to wearing a suit that is this fitted? The pants fit pretty good - the pockets don't lay completely flat as I have a bit of an arse.

^ I think it looks pretty good. No bowing in the lapels, no pulling at the button and it gives you a flattering silhouette. If mine fits that good when it arrives the I'll be pretty happy.
