HOPEFULLY by June - working with a different factory since the other factory hasn't been giving me the time of day. There certainly is a line waiting for more 38R navy, but we plan to unleash a nice variety of great fabrics and not just solids!

Ben, I have a feeling the hordes are going to be unleashed once you release those. Hope you make enough! Not my size, thankfully.

BTW, and updates on more Benjamin dress shirts? And do you plan to make any in the less-slim model?

I am in the market for a navy sport coat. My Benjamin Classico suit in 38S are by far the best fitting jacket and pants I own. Any suggestions for a similar fit in a nice quality navy sport coat?

Thanks.

Congratulations on the UK shop!

I'm potentially interested in a navy Benjamin suit - the price point is great - but would ideally like to try on a couple of sizes (36S, 36R, maybe 38S) to check out the fit on me & the general cut/style before buying. Going through a process of over-ordering and returning the ones I don't want seems a bit of a tiresome way to go about it. Do you have a b&m shop in the UK to try them on?

Back in talks with the Italian manufacturers for the shirts - they still have our fabrics and trimmings from nearly a year ago - a bit frustrating, but still no delivery date as of yet.

We're in transition to a new commercial space just south of Wimbledon - it's office space and not a store/shop, but sure we can take appointments when we're settled in! We happen to have just those 4 suits here in the UK until we start getting fresh shipments later this spring/summer (hoping by June).

Sounds great! It seems that the best thing to do would be to get in touch with you closer to the summer, once you get some 36S in stock, then. Thanks!

BTW, will you be introducing a size filter to your UK product finder search tool? There's one on the US site, but unless I'm being daft, I can't see one on the UK equivalent.

I'm in the same situation. Good luck getting those 36/38 sizes to the UK, & I'll see you in Wimbledon in June hopefully!

Thanks for reminding me - I'll work on implementing that asap.

BTW you can also type in a variety of keywords in the upper right search box of the site, including sizes combined with brand for example:

  • Benjamin 42R
  • Borrelli 16.0 shirt
  • Kiton trousers 34

Great - I look forward to meeting some of you guys, as I did with some back in NJ! I'm actually looking into possibly setting up a pop-up shop in London if the opportunity is right... we'll see!

A little story that brought me extra cheer on an already special day:

So yesterday the Mrs. and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. We had a great lunch and afterwards did a bit of window shopping before picking up the kids from school. We stopped in at an unnamed high end store in Knightsbridge, and as I was poking around I could sense the sales person eying me (as they often do!). As he started to make his approach and we initiated eye contact, he quickly reverted his gaze back to my jacket.

His first words: "I love your jacket. Is it Kiton?"

I smiled (probably beamed, actually), as I unbuttoned the top button and opened the jacket to reveal my Benjamin label and responded, "No, this is actually my own label."

He was floored, and as we continued to speak for the next 10 minutes we discussed the rag trade and also labels including Kiton, Brioni and the like, as he'd been in the business and involved with such brands for the past 30 years. He had all sorts of questions about my clothing line, as he was intrigued and amazed at the quality, fabric, and fit. And the price? He thought I was crazy for offering it for so little. He reiterated that he SWORE it was Kiton in the few seconds when he first spotted me (although admittedly the lapel hole is not like Kiton's at all - mine is much nicer! - but he was referring more to the lapels, shoulders, overall shape of the garment and also the fabric/pattern). He said it could easily pass for a £3,000 jacket any day.

After a friendly conversation and exchange of information we parted ways, but he assured me he was excited to try out a jacket for himself once we get them in! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

BTW this is the same jacket I modeled several weeks ago - the new Napoli model we hope to introduce asap (hopefully some time in the next few months)!

Jacket: Benjamin Napoli model
Fabric: 93% Cashmere 7% Silk by Colombo
Shirt: Benjamin
Pochette: Kiton

Dude you are killing me with the wait on these jackets to get in and these pics just add fuel to the fire! The jacket looks great by the way and this particular fabric sportcoat that you are wearing is awesome and is going to be one of my first purchases. I hope they are in by June because my best friend is getting married at the end of June and I would definitely love to wear one of these to the wedding.

Hey Ben, I know it may be up somewhere in the thread, but are your SCs canvassed or fused? What's the silhouette like? (e.g. boxy, tapered, etc...)

I bought a 38R Benjamin suit. Can't begin to tell you how pleased with it I am. Fabric, construction, everything. Nice fit OTR too. Here are some pics straight out of the packaging...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
