So some of you guys don't like the patch chest pocket? Too casual? It's just that with a solid jacket you want to make sure it doesn't look like an orphaned suit jacket. What about buttons? MOP? Silver? Definitely not brass though.

Good question. I was thinking more of the versatility factor with the chest patch pocket maybe making it look too casual. Now, I don't really know. But I can definitely say that I would prefer anything over buttons of any type of metal.

How about dark nut buttons with brass shank, which I think would also remove jacket from orphan suit jacket and complement the heavier fabric.

Hmmm... haven't seen these kinds of buttons - leather shanked yes, but nut button with shank escapes me at the moment... pics of examples?

Hey, does anyone with an athletic build have any experience with the Granoro model? I've been doing some research but a lot of individuals here are 5'10"+, slim, and wearing a 38-42 which doesn't help me at all.

I'm about 5'6" @ 160lbs with a 31" waist. I'm a 40S and how would the Granoro compare to a Canali or Hugo Boss 40S, as this suits fits really well on me. The alterations are usually just taking in around the waist.

Thanks.

Hard to say for sure, but we have a 30 day return policy - might as well give it a whirl... we may even be able to switch out the pants for a smaller pant depending on which suit you want and availability...

I'm solidly in the A camp with patch chest pocket. A curved one would be nice. But I would view this as casual jacket. As I said earlier, I'd also love an unlined one. But how about a more casual version in hopsack or something along with the cashmere?
And MOP buttons for me, too.

On the lookout for a nice hopsack in a nice quality at reasonable price - still searching but high on the priority list.

I think the soft shoulder, hip patch pockets, and contrasting buttons will avoid the orphaned suit jacket look, especially if the fabric doesn't look as smooth as a typical worsted wool.
I like the idea of brown horn or corozo buttons. MOP would be my next choice.
So you're still figuring out the details of the jackets? Does this mean we're not seeing them in April?

Also considering horn... we'll see. Maybe we'll offer a choice especially since sleeves are basted anyway. I'm leaning towards MOP as the default and maybe offering horn or maybe even corozo like we have now on the suits. The patch pockets on the hip should be enough to distinguish it as a jacket...

Regarding timing - we have more suits coming in (re-order of stock solids) hopefully by end of April/early May. Originally picked out some spring fabrics for same delivery but then came across a new source for better fabrics so put a hold on those other spring jacket fabrics. In a holding pattern for the jackets at this point, but have already bought awesome fall/winter fabrics which will be ready some time this summer for this coming fall.

Yes solid navy but it's a wool/cash heavier weight... haven't yet decided whether to make it with traditional flapped/besom pockets or patch... vote? What do you guys think?
SOLID NAVY WOOL/CASH BLAZER WITH:
A. 3 PATCH POCKETS?
B. WELT CHEST AND 2 PATCH POCKETS?
C. WELT CHEST WITH FLAPPED BESOM POCKETS?
If I find a nice lighter weight wool I'd definitely do A or B... probably A though.

A for me!

I'm thinking something like this, but dark.

Or dark horn.

Just personal preference, but too casual, and I think two patch pockets :happy:ni it enough.

By the way, we're planning to offer Benjamin tux in a few months too - we made a few samples a few years ago but then shelved the idea - now we're going to move forward with it. Probably as a separates program for this too!

+1, and a peaked lapel single-button jacket too. This has gotten surprisingly tough to find among all the notched lapel two-button jackets out there.
