With RLBL (new favorite) 44L it is lengthen sleeves slightly, bring in the jacket a bit and bring in the waist on the pants. Each suit it cut differently and each person is shaped differently. Find the cut that best suits you and let your tailor go to work. I can't for the life of me figure out why I have to go up a size in BL, but I do, and it fits really well with minor, customary alterations.

I kind of agree to that also. I probably would be fine if I found a 40R BL or PL (please let me know if you see any), but I didn't, I found the 38R which is too tight and I'm going to complain about it.

Back on topic, I've seen Don Cheadle in RLBL in a number of recent photo shoots, which I guess are part of the buzz for Traitor. A quick search yields only one photo (http://www.esquire.com/style/fashion-story/fashion0807), and it's not him in a suit, but one of the mag spreads I saw had him in a suit. For some reason, I'm blanking on the magazine name.

How do you guys feel the fit of RL Black Label compares to RL PL? I heard from the sales assistant that PL is the slimmest fit (highest arm holes etc.) but I've also had one of their assistants tell me that what I really needed was a square shoulder shirt when precisely the opposite was true.

Can anyone give me a reality check?

Thanks,

EI

Odd, I was told by a SA at Polo that the BL was the slimmest fit.

Black Label is slimmer than Purple label. There are other differences in the cut as well, but this is one of them.

Brian has it correct. I've also found that I wear a 38R in most Black Labels but others are too tight in the chest/shoulders. Sizing up had mixed results. These are, after all, off-the-rack suits, so a little production variation is to be expected.

Anyone has measurements of RLBL 42L suit jackets' length from top of collar to bottom of skirt?

i need a quality suit, and I called up a RL store today to find out about the RLBL suit. With the 55% stacked discount, it ends up at ~$1000. I am sure I can get a better deal on SF, but is there a decent price for retail?

55% off isn't a decent percentage price drop for retail?!

If you wait until end of season, get lucky at one of the better Polo discount outlets or one of the big discounters, or find a suit in your size & preferred style for sale in the B&S forum here then yes, you may well find a bigger percentage drop.

But really, by any reasonable standard, 55% off is a very very good discount!

55% of retail is a good discount, definitely. But, the suit itself will still cost me ~$1000. I definitely need a staple suit, and this would definitely be it (38r charcoal suit). I just want to know if these RLBL's can be had at a better price.
