@newyorknoir if the brand sells dozens or hundreds of different products from a variety of sources, the number is surely more than 1. Are their shoes likely to cause rashes? What about their overcoats? And their cuflinks? If not buying is about revenge on them or an emotional dislkie, then have at it. If it's about not getting a rash, well....

At a minimum, your experience suggests that non-non-iron pants should be fine.

That's true, though I have many other options and don't have to reduce myself to one brand. As far as Brooks Brothers, their polos and chinos are specifically what had interested me—There are plenty of great shoemakers, but a classic Brooks Brothers polo is.. well.. a classic. At your recommendation I will try the non-non-iron chinos and hope that whatever signature solution they add for a wrinkle-free finish doesn't have the same reaction.

You asked for colors, so... I like white pants. I think every man should own a pair of white pants that can dress up or casually. Also light khakis are great for summer. If you are near the UK, I have a pair of white pants that I got last summer from a store called Reiss. I've gotten many many compliments on them and they are VERY comfortable.
Absolutely, white pants are vary versatile, and essential in summer

Uniqlo, dockers and even gap have some wonderful ones at very affordable price. Hackett do cavallary twill trousers that were the precursors to chinos. More high waisted classic fit.

For chinos you cannot go wrong with classic khaki which literally means the colour of dust/ashes - the question is which shade. The classic shade should look like cream washed with tea and coffe powder - not so different from the colour of chai latte or cafe au lait. Those tending towards olive can worn but are less versatile. If you have to add one more then navy are a good substitute to jeans. Finally red or deep wine coloured trousers are classic with double breasted navy blazer.

In all cases cotton looks best a bit broken in and distressed - hopefully through use and washing not through chemical treatment.

Incotex has a nice quality chino (actually the one I saw are cotton and linen called chinolino), otherway if you are searching for a classic with a good cotton quality go at Brooks Brothers.

Other thing is an hand-mesured made chino, different thing I know, the costs are different but the product is there.
