I have a cleaning related issue.

Today, I put my lunchbox in my filson tote bag, and some broth leaked out of the lunchbox, and got onto the interior of my bag. As I understand, normally you shouldn't wash filson bags, but in my case, I wonder how I can clean my bag. Thanks!

Take it outside and rinse it off with a hose. Let it dry in an airy spot out of the sun and then treat the leather with a good conditioner. If you're up to it you can wax the twill while you're at it.

I wanted to share my great experience with Crane's. I placed my order via phone on May 23 and was told by Shawna (or Shayna? I am so bad with names!) that they were out of stock on the Filson tan 256s and that it would take about a week before they were re-stocked. I was a little bummed but thought, "Well, I've waited this long in my quest for the perfect bag. One week won't hurt anything." Since then, I went about my business. Imagine my delight when I found a box from Crane's at my doorstep this evening! What a pleasant surprise. Got the SF rate and love the service. Keep it up, Crane's!

Bag Mini-review
The bag's everything I was hoping for. I was initially debating between the 256 vs. 257 but I am SO glad I went with my gut and got the 256. It has plenty of room for everything I have to carry:

• Main Compartment: my 15" IBM Thinkpad T42 (yeah, it's nearly vintage ),
• Interior side pocket #1: power cord and mouse
• Interior side pocket #2: Bar review book/notes
• External side pocket A: Snacks, granola bars
• External side pocket B (kept close to my side while walking): Wallet, etc.

I already had a "corporate", black Tumi expandable Alpha briefcase so this is perfect for streamlining my carryalongs while maintaining a more casual vibe.

Glad you like your bag. We're still having a bit of a problem keeping the briefcases in stock but it's getting better. We were ordering triple the amount of bags to try to keep some on the shelves. By the time we got them they were all spoken for. Now we're ordering 4 or 5 times the amount to try and mitigate Filson's endless back log. It seems to be working. LOL, at least for this week.....

I picked up one of the new Tincloth backpacks. I'm going to use it as a daypack for my hunting, fishing, hiking and rock hunting (mis) adventures. Figured it's a lot tougher than one of my Osprey packs and if I manage to tear it up I get a new one for free. Don't get me wrong, Osprey makes some awesome packs but they don't do so well loaded up with pointy and sharp lithics or tools.

As you all know I'm involved in a rather lengthy and no holds barred test of the Wolverine 1K boots. Wolverine has another heritage kind of line that's called the 1883. We have the boat shoes, Oxfords and the denim lined moc toe boot in stock. We can order in all of them in any size available so if you're interested you know what to do. They're pretty nice. I might get a pair of the Oxfords for kicks though I don't think I'll write up a review. I'm saving that for 2 new boot styles I'm going to pick up and beat to death out of the Fall 1K lineup. Shhhh don't tell anyone but one of those pairs just might be shell. LOL.

Speaking of boots, we can get anything made by Danner. I'll get them up on the site one of these days but for now just call the store.

Same goes for guns.....

Straightened up for Father's Day. Featuring the new Backpack, tote bags, #256's and #257's, with rod cases and guns cases hanging from the ceiling.

Ordered my Filson 256 on Friday, got it yesterday.
