aged-looking/sun-damaged skin under eyes?

Can anything be done about this? I suppose the past couple summers I did more sun tanning than I should have, and I think it resulted in my under-eye skin looking more aged than it otherwise should be. The other day I was caught off guard when a girl at work said it looks like I got a bad sun-burn on my face in the past, so it must be kind of obvious. I already have chronic (I assume hereditary) dark circles under my eyes, so it only makes it worse. And I'm not talking about having puffy eyes. Are there nay eye creams that can help with this? also, preferably something that isn't really strong, or meant for sensitive skin. Last fall I was using a few anti-oxidant topicals on that area and I think it did more harm than good.

You sound like you have two different things going on here, both that can be handled by an experienced Dermatologist. The dark circles are one issue that can be treated but I don't have any personal experience with that treatment. The sun damage I have treated, under a doctors care, with Renova (Retna A) for the last 8+ years with excellent results. But you also need to begin using a high quality sunscreen daily or the results are just wasted. I'll bet that within a few weeks of using Renova you will notice a difference. I think it makes my skin look younger and more "fresh".

I have heard of people using home skin peals. There are also many skin care people who aren't doctors with a wide range of remedies. I would never use them. It could really mess up your skin.
