So, if buying Conne a plane ticket wasn't a noble charity worthy of your dollars, this might be a tad better: http://www.active.com/donate/takestepsNYC07/SGarcia353 My friend is doing this walk and he's looking for all the exposure he can get for donations. Just consider it. And you whiny conservatives who are always going off on how conservatives donate more to charity... prove it.

Please note that this is in no way Styleforum-connected or endorsed. I'm doing this for my friend, as umm.. "it's a good cause." All that jazz.

Hi Everyone,

I decided to sign up so I could thank Brian publicly and give a bit more info as I was the one who asked him for the favor (we've known each other for about 20 years now).

This past January someone very close to me was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, which pretty much means that her colon was damaged and was causing lots of unpleasant things to happen. Thankfully, due to some aggressive treatment she is on the road to recovery. Unfortunately neither of these diseases have actual cures - treatment just keeps them in check.

I am participating in a walk on Thursday June 18, 2008 to raise money for more research. Keep in mind that this research might spawn treatments for other intestinal conditions as well. Either way, it's a solid cause that I'll be donating money to myself as well.

Anyway, thank you to anyone who donates some money to a great cause and thank you to Brian for posting this up for me.

check out www.cctakesteps.org for more information.

Thanks!

-Sean
