In a few months, possibly in February as I'm going to Chicago (much better shopping there than KC), I'm looking to pick up a suit. Not for interviews or business, just a sleek suit for dressed-up evenings. Most likely black, but possibly very dark blue (I've seen some cool shades by Helmut Lang). Something very tapered. Here's the dilemma, although I'm a 42R (very fit, with a narrow waist), my legs are larger than those that might accompany the average 42. Think of a sprinter's build--that's pretty much me. As a result, I doubt a 42R by a label such as Costume National or Helmut Lang would work. Forgive my ignorance as streetwear has been my sole domain (I'm only 22, after all), but do most retailers let you "mix and match" pants and jackets? Or would I just try and find a matching blazer and pants? I've heard people say that Emporio Armani's suits have oversized slacks, so maybe this is a viable option for me. I like the drape of certain pants by Theory, do they make acceptable suits? I've heard posts questioning the brand's overall quality. Thoughts?
