Port recommendations - Page 3

This thread makes me miss by ex-brother-in-law. Because of his heart condition, his doctor recommended a glass of wine a day, so he became a port drinker. He also convinced me to start taking better care of my own heart. I've never tried a white port though (never even realized they are available).

Now this is something I know a thing or two about. Well, given that I pass by the cellars every day I had better, too.

I did notice the first post is a few months old, but this information might be useful for other folks as well.

So there - if you want a nice Port but you're not in a spending mood, go with a Fonseca Vintage 2003, a Quinta Noval Vintage 2003 or maybe a Dow's Vintage 2003. Now, if you're feeling you want something a tad better, change 2003 with 2000. These are both excellent (recent) years.

On a side note - be wary of any 2004 Vintage. I have yet to try one that I like (not saying that they're all bad).
