Should Augusto Shave His Goatee?

I was already considering shaving to begin with, and recent posts have me thinking I might take off the goatee. I'll post a poll.

Until you get a job.

Shave your head too while you are at it. If not shaven then at least go for something a bit more cropped.

Don't do it!

Lose the chin pubes, please.

Will you get a haircut too?

YES! The pornstar look flatters very few people.

I say keep it (and trim it), because judging from the rest of your face, you probably look 13 without it. And that will actually make it harder to land a job as you will come off as too naive and inexperienced.

Dude-- I said this before like a week ago: If you are looking for a job right now get a haircut and shave that shit off your face. You seem like a nice dude, but no offense the look is not very professional and like it or not, most people want a professional working for them (at least I do).

You can grow that shit back in a couple months once you have a job, but for now get it cleaned up.

My personal opinion is that it just is not a great look for you, but if you love it, then wait a little while and bring it back. I guarantee once you have the job you'll know whether this appropriate or not and most likely it will be fine.

I disagree. I hire fresh college grads to work as interns for my company. I know what age they are-- I was that age too and I have no illusions about how old they are or what they are capable of given their resumes. However, I am in a business where even for the interns there is a lot of client contact and on top of that the principals of the firm are both conservative republicans, one of whom is close to 70 and always, always, always wears a suit. We want the kid (guy or girl) to be smart, good looking, and clean cut. Obviously, I want them to also be smart, interested in what we do, and possess great interpersonal skills-- but unfortunately they aren't getting considered unless they meet those aesthetic requirements first. Why? Cause I have a stack of resumes here and unless you are brilliant, a hot slutty chick, or your dad is a senator-- I can just move on to the next guy and not deal with your bullshit.

I know not every field is like this, but at least I can offer you my personal experience.

Seriously...

Shave it.

What are the odds that he doesn't listen to what the poll says, does exactly what he wants, and finds some reason to back it up anyway?
