Yeah I caught it at AFI. Well worth seeing on the big screen. Really expansive, beautiful film. The modern equivalent of golden-age Hollywood epics.

Agree! It was a fantastic movie with drop dead gorgeous scenery.

The scenery is indeed magnificent. The story was a bit slow at times, but I like how they represented all the characters. It was more about his personal story, rather than just fighting all the time.

Watched it last night and really liked it. The story was def. basic, but engaging.

I watched this last night and was severely annoyed by how many holes were in the plot. They focused too much on the love story and didn't give enough attention to how he rose to power. I found it odd given how he pretty much raped his way through half the world. The Genghis Khan they portrayed did not sound like a man who would say this:
Quote:
“The greatest happiness is to scatter your enemy, to drive him before you, to see his cities reduced to ashes, to see those who love him shrouded in tears, and to gather into your bosom his wives and daughters.”
