Branding can have an influence on some women, but they are also likely to notice things such as the fit as well as whether or not the color of your shirt looks good on you.
I have received compliments about several article of clothings coming from some pretty good looking girls over the last few years. I have received compliments both for branded items as well as for items whose brand you couldn't see by a logo or didn't have a logo that the usual girl would recognize (APC, R&B, RLPL shirt, random lilac dress shirt, ties, watch, Tretorn shoes).
I guess there is a very important variable that you completely let out of your way of thinking: what girls are you targetting? If you are going after some airheaded trailor trash whore, then, yeah, by all mean they will be impressed by your pair of True Religion and you will get laid, most likely joining the select club of one New Yorker out of four that has herpes. Girls that have commented on my branded item (i.e.: a washed out Burberry polo that used to fit me well) were generally much less sophisticated and interesting than those that commented on items by SF-approved brands.
