Minor knuckle hair - not a problem (unless you work in a kitchen). Knuckle braids - might be an issue. Yes we're mammals, but if every time you go into the woods and some redneck starts shooting at you because he thinks your bigfoot, maybe some grooming is in order. I don't know what it is about our society, where it's okay for a man to shave his face, his scalp, but god forbid he should take a scissor to his horrifying man sweater because that makes him a girly man. It's your man fur. Do with it as you will.
